Beach Camp 2010

Beach Camp 2010

Good Morning from Baker, Louisiana. We just got back on the busses after a breakfast at McDonalds and Subway. We had a long and very COLD night on the busses. We dropped off and picked up people from Abilene to Dallas. I think we have 78 people on two busses. Our drivers have driven patiently all night long. We changed drivers in Shreveport, Louisiana. The students were sleeping in the floor across the aisles and just about everywhere else you can imagine. So far, we have had a very smooth trip. We have about six more hours on the bus. Just to let you know how great your kids are, the Mcdonalds employees told Jase, they were the most polite kids they could remember coming through in a long time. Way to go FBC Seminole.

Yea, we are finally here! We had an interesting day. When we were about an hour and a half out, one of our busses broke down, so we had to load everyone and all of our luggage on one bus, but we made it. We are all settled in the kids have been down to the beach, NO OIL yet, Just beautiful white sand. The students have not been in the ocean yet. We have two red flags flying which means that the undertow is too bad for anyone to get into the water. Maybe it will be better tomorrow. Matt is our camp pastor, and he did his usual great job preaching tonight. He topic tonight was on getting up. He preached from Joel Chapter 2 and 1st Peter. He talked about getting rid of what is keeping you away from God in your life, because God wants you wholly devoted t Him. Jase led the students in Church Group Time on the beach after that. It has been an interesting day, but a good one.

Our first set of photos are posted under Beach Camp Day 1.
